Mission & values

Tie One On Recovery offers fellowship through fly tying and fly fishing, for people in recovery and for families affected by addiction.

What we stand for

  • Take your time

Fly tying rewards patience: small wraps, one at a time, until something holds. Nobody here is in a hurry, and nobody is keeping score.

  • You belong here as you are

Ten years sober or ten days, with a label for it or without one. You don't have to drink every day, and you don't have to have it figured out.

  • Alcohol-free, always

Every tying night, every trip, every gathering. Before, during and after.

  • Peer support, not treatment

We're anglers and neighbors, not clinicians. We don't diagnose or counsel, and we'll always point you to professional help when you need it.

  • What's said at the table stays there

Who comes is nobody else's business. No photos of faces without permission. Your story is yours to tell, or not.

  • Families matter too

Addiction reaches everyone standing near it. Families get their own space here, whether or not their person is in recovery.

Why the name

In fly fishing, you tie one on every time you knot a fly to the end of your line. For a lot of us, the phrase used to mean something else. Here, it's how a good day on the water starts.
